"Beyond the Darkness" - Paul Korda & the 32nd St/USC Choir
Recorded at A&M Studio A
Hollywood, where "We are the World" was recorded, and on location in East
Los Angeles, the music video was born out of Paul Korda teaching youngsters
at the community centers of East Los Angeles, to outlet their frustrations
through improvisational music creation. Seeing the benefits to the kids,
brought about by this spontaneous creation, he then went on to write "Beyond
the Darkness, with the intent of gaining financial resources for this form
of education, and with the help of many, made this video, proceeds that will
contribute to the Magnet School Program for the Performing Arts.
There's little doubt that creativity can help steer our Earth back from the
edge of destruction and help children to retain their innocence and build
their character, avoiding the pitfalls of urban destructive behavior,
especially that of abusive parents.
So support creativity by sending an email of the download and the artwork as
your way of showing your support for the expression of kids through the
performing arts and help the schools maintain their programs in the current
state budget shortfall.
Directed by Emmy winner Linda Yellen, arranged by Phil Collins' keyboard
player and film composer J. Peter Robinson, guitars by Michael Miller (Geno
Vanelli, Chick Corea) Choirmaster Mark Johnston. Special thanks to Herb
Alpert and everyone involved for helping to make it all possible. All the
love in the World to the children of the 32nd St./USC Magnet School for the
Arts and the children from the community centers of East Los Angeles, as
well as all the children of our small planet.
